Tell me a little about your background.

I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a business management degree. Before Medical Sales College I was working in logistics. On a day to day basis I would be dealing with truck drivers and customers to set the schedule for the next day. Based off of all my past experiences I felt that I would excel in this industry and I knew I had to attend Medical Sales College to help get my foot in the door.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I found that it could be a very lucrative career but it required a lot of work to do so. This didn't bother me as my past experiences have prepared to hopefully one day be successful in this industry. I also found it fascinating to be in the operating room with a surgeon. Having a surgeon lean on you in certain situations made me want to jump into this industry.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

Through Landon Kay a past graduate of Medical Sales College. He currently works for Globus.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I knew it would be tough to break into the industry without any sales experience and Medical Sales College definitely helps bridge that gap. They provide you with the necessary tools that help you land interviews and later land a job.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

This experience was great and unique. We were supposed to do everything in person but because of COVID we completed everything online. We learned TONS of material all of which you can use to land a job in this industry. Whether it be procedures, anatomy, or profiling all help throughout the job process.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

If you want to break into this industry you should attend Medical Sales College. They provide you everything you will need to land a job in this industry. Coming from someone without any sales experience or much interview experience they definitely help bridge that gap.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

I didn't try prior to attending MSC

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

I had an hour long zoom call with the President and then about a 20 minute zoom call with the Senior rep the next day. Then a week or two later they flew me out to Houston, where I met a couple more of the reps and they offered the job to me that day.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

I wish I would have started networking before Medical Sales College so I possibly would have had a job right as class ended. Contacting people in the industry through LinkedIn is huge and the way to do it for sure.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

How to prepare for interviews was the biggest thing for me and practicing talking to people in the industry was huge. I tend to get very nervous during interviews but Medical Sales College taught me definitely how to prepare for interviews and it helped tremendously.
