Tell me a little about your background.

Exercise Science major with a pre-PA concentration in college. Was very active in the community with sports, clubs, and charitable organizations. I also was a student ambassador and moonlighted as a bartender to pay my way through college.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I always wanted to be in the medical field, so when PA school didn't work out, I knew I had the clinical base and social skills to try my luck at medical sales. Plus the money would be nice.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

Randi Evans, a former student who heard about it through internet ads.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I wasn't having any luck with interviews and I saw that Medical Sales had such a high success rate. I knew I was missing something and that I could learn from more. Plus I saw Randi get a job pretty easily, so that also had an influence on me.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

A humbling experience.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

To become a better candidate for whatever company you end up interviewing with and to be an asset to the surgeon when you get that job.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

Less than 6 months.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

I reached out to the regional manager on linkedin, who got me in touch with the 2 reps. I had 1 phone interview with them each that lasted about an hour to an hour and a half. The interviews flowed more like conversations rather than questions because they were able to tell from the get go that I knew my stuff. They were really just trying to 1. see what I knew and the clinical side and their products 2. they wanted to see if I would be someone they could work with and hangout on the weekends with as well. My last interview was with the Executive VP of Sales who grilled me for about an hour on how I was inexperienced and too young. As well as how there are much more candidates that were well more qualified than me. I simply told him how inexperience isn't a bad thing and that I haven't developed any bad habits that an experienced sales person would have by now. I also told him that by being young I was also hungry, had more energy, and didn't have anything holding me back like a wife or kids. I got a call about 2 days later stating that I had gotten the job.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

I wish I knew how important reaching out on linked was before I started school

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

Sell yourself, know your product, and if you don't know an answer to something a doctor asks you don't try and make an answer up.
