Tell me a little about your background.

I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA. Throughout my life, I have loved playing sports and engaging in challenging activities. Aside from that, I love going to the beach and being outside with friends and family.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I knew I wanted a career where I would have an impact on someone while also being able to work in a challenging atmosphere where I knew I would thrive. My grandfather had a double knee replacement and I saw his quality of life drastically improve after surgery. From then on, I knew that I wanted to be in medical devices where I would have the opportunity to positively impact someone's life while also creating relationships with people every day.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

LinkedIn.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I needed a way to get into the medical device industry, and after applying to countless jobs and getting rejected due to my lack of experience, I knew MSC would be a great option.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

The training at MSC was intense with many hours, days, and weekends committed to studying in a way that I had never studied in my four years of undergrad. The days were spent studying PowerPoints, watching live surgeries, and practicing on sawbones to gain hands-on experience.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

Attending MSC will provide you with the tools you need to break into this industry. Without the experience you get from MSC, it will be very difficult to even get an interview with medical device companies. The foundation of knowledge that you receive at MSC will provide you with the confidence you need to sit down in front of an employer and have a successful interview.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

Less than 6 months.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

The interview process with DePuy Synthes was pretty intense. I met with all of the team members and was able to get into an ACDF spine surgery to see what being in the industry is really like. The first interview with the manager consisted of pretty basic interview questions but after that it was up to me to take the interview process into my own hands.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

The instructors are very knowledgeable and provided real-life experiences that they went through to put into perspective what being in medical devices is really like. Aside from that, practicing with sawbones as well as presenting studies and research for our projects helped me to become very comfortable studying information and presenting it in front of a group of people.
