Tell me a little about your background.

I am a recent college graduate from Louisiana State University with a degree in Kinesiology.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I wanted to go to medical school to become a surgeon and realized my junior year of college that I no longer wanted to pursue that career path. I therefore have a strong passion for science and human anatomy, so I started speaking to some spine medical device reps in my area and was fascinated with the implants and sets.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

I had three friends that had attended the program that now have awesome jobs after attending the Medical Sales College.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I knew how hard the industry would be to break in to and wanted to have a good base foundation before I even attempted entering the industry.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

If I could attend the program again, I would. I learned more in two months than I ever thought imaginable. My instructors (Loren Deren & Theresa Richards) were both so knowledgeable and experienced in the industry. They presented the material in a way that was easily understandable both for those with and without a biology, or science background.

What is the most valuable piece of information that you learned while attending MSC which ultimately helped you land your position?

I think more than anything it was the stories and experiences that all of my instructors shared with the class. This prevented and will continue to prevent me from making a lot of beginner mistakes within the industry.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

If you want to quickly get a job in medical device sales, I 100% recommend attending an MSC course. Even if you have sales experience, this industry is certainly difficult to get in to. When a company sees MSC on your resume you immediately gain credibility. Employers know that you have truly invested in yourself and your career. I do not know one person that has attended MSC that does not have a great job in the medical device industry. Moreover, my recruiter with MSC (Paige Doyle) was incredibly helpful throughout the interview process. She was always quick to answer and had many connections with the companies I was interviewing with. Once I got a job, I received texts from all of my instructors and Paige congratulating me- MSC truly invests in their students and wants you to succeed.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

I did not even try because I knew it would be hard to have credibility with the companies without having any sales experience or knowledge of the industry.

Explain what your interview process was like.

As soon as I graduated I started getting contacted by companies. I got hired about 2 months after I graduated from the program. MSC really prepares you for a lot of the questions future employers ask.
I felt comfortable and confident in all of my interviews.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

The job is truly challenging, but also very rewarding.
