Tell me a little about your background.

Majored in BioMedical Sciences in college, clinical and optometry background

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I have always been interested in healthcare as well as communication/building relationships. This combined both things I am passionate about.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

LinkedIn

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I spoke to several MSC graduates (employed and those who were still in the job searching process) via LinkedIn, phone calls/texts and they all shared their experiences and said great things!

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

Training was very in depth; we tackled a lot throughout a day. Long days but it was very informative. The instructors are full of knowledge and experience -hearing about their experiences for me was the most valuable!! The sales calls/in service presentations really make you step out of your comfort zone, looking back I know its going to all be very helpful moving forward in my new role.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

It really sets you apart from the average resume. It gives you a good foundation on what you?ll be doing everyday in the field and MSC has the connections to get you in touch with the right people. Also, the friendships you build with your classmates are amazing- 2 of my classmates also got hired by KCI and helped me throughout the interview process. I am thrilled to be working at the same company and excited to attend nationwide meetings together-I?ll get to see familiar faces and share this journey with the both of them!

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

A few months.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

Phone interview with district manager, in person interview with district manager and territory manager, phone call with field sales trainer and at the end of the week got the call from the DM offering me the position. All together a 3 week process.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

Take the leap. Also, don't compare your journey to others. Some graduates find work right away, others a few months later, and some even a year out. MSC still does a great job helping you throughout the process. It can get frustrating and discouraging but the placement coordinators are very supportive. And don?t hesitate to reach out to MSC grads-it's a huge network, they love to help and many also know recruiters/hiring managers etc that you can get in touch with.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

The hiring manager was very impressed with the business plan. I also took a screen shot of the surgeon profiling via MD RepTrack, which I included in the business plan. My knowledge on what is expected in the role, the lingo, and my biology background helped me land my position.
