Student Testimonials
Tell me a little about your background.
I graduated with a bachelor?s degree May of 2018 in Health Management. I always knew I wanted to be in sales, so I started applying for medical device sales positions. Unfortunately, these companies ask for more sales experience than I had so I did some research and came across MSC and knew that is what I needed to get my foot in the door.
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
The medical field has always been something I am passionate about and sales is something I am naturally comfortable with. My personality fits all the qualities of a sales representative. So I knew that medical device sales was a great fit for my career path.
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
A friend that I had attended courses with in college informed me of the school and I did extensive research on my own of the school and in the end decided it was a great opportunity for me!
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
The staff is awesome, and all of the reviews of the school were positive and great. I even got to explore the area before I attended the program and knew in my gut is something I needed to do.
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
We started out with the Ortho instructor, DC, who was great. He makes you feel very comfortable and starts every class with an inspirational video every morning. I also had Thiana for biologics and she was absolutely awesome and gave amazing advice. Then Jim Rogers visited us and he talked to us about sales and the industry. Then the last 4 weeks we had Rebecca Camp, who taught me everything I needed to know about spine. She cares about us as students and prepares us very well for the industry. She helped me find my passion for spine. All together, these instructors really helped me and gave me a great foundation of knowledge for the industry.
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
Only about 3 months since I had just graduated college.
Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.
What is your current job like?
I start in 2 weeks since I have to make such a big move. But he already gave me a good layout of what I will be doing the first 3-6 months. I will be training and shadowing cases with him. He wants me to start covering cases by myself ASAP and after 3 months I will start making calls on my own.
What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?
MSC taught me everything I really needed to know. I guess I wish I knew more about the different divisions you can work in (spine, ortho, trauma, sports medicine) before attending MSC. But that?s why I chose to do the combo program to see which one I liked better.
What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?
They prepared us very well for the interviewing process. I was comfortable in all of my interviews because of all of the great advice they gave us.
