Student Testimonials
Tell me a little about your background.
I am originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma and I got my degree in Business Administration- Healthcare Management. I then got a job doing outside B2B sales where I got promoted quickly to a Regional Sales Manager and moved to the KC area.
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
I get a ton of self-satisfaction when I can help people, but I am also very driven and competitive. I have always been fascinated with the healthcare industry, especially with the OR and all the technology that has advanced over the years. When I realized that there was an industry that combined the hospital setting, with a competitive atmosphere, as well as being able to sell life changing products that help people to a better quality of life. I knew that I had found my calling.
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
Advertisements on LinkedIn and Medreps.
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
I wanted to invest in myself to make sure that I would have the tools and knowledge to do well. I also reached out to several graduates that had already gone through the program and they validated my thoughts on attending MSC. I am so happy that I took the risk, it was well worth it!
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
I loved that it was so hands on! It is a ton of information and it can be very challenging at times. The program is not something that you can just breeze through; it requires a lot of time and studying to do well. I also loved having several instructors because everyone is different on how they approach things. It gave me several great examples in multiple aspects that I can take to the field.
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
I tried really hard to get the process started while still in college and then once I graduated that?s all I applied for in the first couple of months of being graduated with no luck. Fast forward two years, I realized that getting into the medical device arena was still a very strong interest of mine so I just decided to take a leap of faith and enroll directly to MSC.
Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.
What is your current job like?
I have not started yet, but I am studying my new products and will be attending training in a few weeks.
What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?
I wish I would?ve had a more realistic expectation as to how long it can take to land a position. Looking back I wish I would?ve done research on the KC area to look at the job availability instead of just assuming there would be plenty of positions to choose from since it?s a bigger city. If I could?ve relocated, I feel very confident to say that I would?ve had a job much sooner. Thankfully my husband and I were prepared financially knowing that it could take a little bit.
What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?
Knowing who to target and what to do once you?re in the hospital.
