Student Testimonials
Tell me a little about your background.
I graduated from the University of South Carolina in May 2017 with a degree in Exercise Science. After graduation, I attended a year graduate program and found that I was really interested in medical device sales. After talking to a lot of people in the medical device sales industry I knew that I needed training or experience to break into the field which is why I decided to attend Medical Sales College.
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
I have always had a passion for the medical field. I became interested in medical device sales because you provide a service that will ultimately improve the patients? quality of life. Another thing that got me interested in medical sales is the environment- it is such a fast-paced environment that is constantly throwing new challenges at you!
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
I learned about Medical Sales College through a graduate of the Medical Sales College and they had nothing but good things to say about it.
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
Talking to previous graduates made me feel confident in attending MSC. The best advice that I could give would be to do your research and talk to as many graduates as possible so that you know what you are getting yourself into.
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
It is tough trying to learn the spine anatomy, technologies, and pathologies all in an 8-week period but MSC has amazing instructors that help you through it. Rebecca in particular was awesome and is one of the main reasons I learned so much at MSC.
What is the most valuable piece of information that you learned while attending MSC which ultimately helped you land your position?
I think the most valuable piece of information that I learned from MSC was how to communicate with surgeons. Learning how to do the portfolios was also very valuable. It is hard to pin-point one thing that helped me because we learned so much at MSC that I used during my interview process!
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
I tried applying for jobs and that lasted about 2 months before I was told that I would need some type of experience or training to get into the field. That is when I decided to attend MSC.
Explain what your interview process was like.
The interview process felt longer than it actually was. I had a few face-to-face interviews with ATEC and then I shadowed 2 surgeries and a day in the clinic.
What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?
It is so important to know what you?re talking about especially during the interview process. I wish I would have known that it really helps to network all throughout your time at MSC. Also make sure to keep all your notes and study guides because they will definitely help you in the future!
