Student Testimonials
Tell me a little about your background.
College graduate with major in Marine Science and minor in Biology. 5-6 years of work experience in home remodeling and commercial flat roof repair.
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
Best friend?s father is a regional manager of a biologics company and I was always interested in his work. During college I looked at going a different direction rather than getting a job in my degree field. He mentored me and helped me to try to get into this industry.
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
Originally I learned about it on medreps.com while I was searching for entry level jobs.
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
My lack of experience hurt me when trying to get into this field. I told my mentor (best friend?s father) about the program when I found it on medreps and he told me he has met graduates of the program in the past and thought this would be a good way to try to break into the industry.
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
The training was very informative and gave a great base knowledge to build off of. I felt more confident when looking for a job and speaking to hiring managers after this program.
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
About 9 months.
Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.
What is your current job like?
It is going well so far. I just completed my training last week and have already visited a few physical therapy offices and met a doctor that is already a client that I will be working with. I also already in-serviced a patient on our product which went well.
What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?
Prior to entering MSC I figured I would most likely get a position as an OR rep coming out of this course and did not really think much about the many other positions out there in this field. Now I am a clinical specialist and instead of seeing patients in the operating room, I am meeting them in person after their surgeries and I am teaching them how to use a product that will aid in their recovery. This isn?t a position I thought I would be in coming out of an orthopedic recon course, but I am very happy with it. I suppose what I learned was that just investing in a course such as this can open up so many different doors that you would not expect.
What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?
I would say learning how to speak confidently in front of others through the many different presentations we had was the most helpful thing for me because I was always a quiet person. This helped to get me out of my shell which definitely helped give me confidence during the interview process.
